Hi, I'm Bronwyn

Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
BSW(Hons), BHS, ADCW

Choosing a mental health professional is a personal decision, and it can have a big impact on how well supports work for you. Research shows that the relationship between you and your mental health professional is the single most important factor in your progress and growth.

It’s also important to know that no one mental health professional can provide everything, so finding someone you feel comfortable with should be your top priority.

You can read more about how I practice below.

My Approach

I believe everyone deserves access to mental health care that is compassionate, evidence-based, and built around their unique needs. My practice draws on a broad range of evidence-based therapies, so there are no one-size-fits-all approaches, no rigid plans or assumptions. Just space to work through things, with someone safe and supportive, in a way that feels right for you.

Sometimes people come to therapy hoping for big changes, and that’s understandable. My focus is on creating a safe space for my clients to explore experiences, understand themselves, and build the skills and perspective they are ready for. Therapy creates the conditions for change, it does not manufacture it.

We will work together to draw on the parts of your world that matter: your interests, strengths, and ways of making meaning, and build on these to help you bring what you learn in therapy into your everyday life. Where helpful, I may also offer resources or referrals to other services that might support your goals.

My Values

Compassion

Approaching every client with kindness, empathy, and genuine care

Empowerment

Supporting people to take control of their own journey and choices

Collaboration

Working with clients, valuing their input and creating solutions as a team

Growth

Believing in everyone's capacity for change and personal growth

You should also know that I won't:

  • force you to use strategies or approaches that don't feel right for you.

  • focus soley on labels or symptoms - you're more than a diagnosis.

  • tell you what you 'should' be doing.

  • expect you to open up before you're ready - we'll go at a pace that feels safe for you.

  • judge you for what you bring to the session

  • pretend to have all the answers - but I will show up with curiosity, care, and committment.

AASW Registered Professional

You're In Safe Hands.

People often assume I’m a psychologist. As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, I work in similar settings and support people through many of the same challenges. To achieve my qualification, it required a four-year degree, then at least two additional years of supervised practice, before undergoing an additional process of rigorous assessment by the Australian Association of Social Workers.

What makes social work different to psychology is the lens we bring: we include a focus on connection, empowerment, practical change, and understanding each person in the context of their whole life, not limiting their assessment to addressing symptoms or a particular diagnosis.

When you choose an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, you’re choosing someone highly trained, ethically guided, committed to ongoing professional development, and accountable to a national peak body. You can be confident that the care provided is qualified, evidence‑based mental health support.
